Display:

iPhone 7 comes with a beautiful 4.7inch Retina HD Display with screen resolution of 1,334 x 750 pixels. The screen is vibrant and bright.

Galaxy S7 Edge has a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with screen resolution of  1,440 x 2,560 pixel with 577ppi pixel density. As always, Samsung has been careful in protecting the screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

For the display, we prefer Galaxy S7 Edge due to better screen resolution, bigger screen and screen protection.

Design:

iPhone 7 is the most attractive iPhone ever launched by the company. iPhone 7 has a 7.1mm thickness along with antennas bending. iPhone 7 is just 138 grams in weight which is a good thing about the smartphone. There is no headphone jack in the smartphone. Speakers are on the bottom of the smartphone. iPhone 7 is available in five colours which are Gold, rose gold, silver, black, jet black.

Galaxy S7 Edge is very handy to carry but due to slickness of the glass and edges are so narrow, it is difficult to maintain the grip on the smartphone. Galaxy S7 Edge is 157 grams in weight which a little heavier than the iPhone 7. Like the iPhone 7, Galaxy S7 Edge also has speakers on the bottom. Galaxy S7 Edge is available in Black, white, gold, silver, pink gold.

Both the smartphones have a very beautiful design. No comparison can be made to the design due to different size and material used for making.

Camera:

iPhone 7 has a very beautiful 12 megapixel rear camera. There is an improvement in six element lens along with a wider f/1.8 aperture. There is a new Quad LED Flash which is 50% brighter than the older iPhone. Moreover, there is a 7 megapixel front camera for taking selfies.

Galaxy S7 Edge also has a 12 megapixel rear camera with a f/1.7 aperture with LED Flash, phase detection autofocus and optical image stabilisation. Moreover, Galaxy S7 Edge has a 5 megapixel front camera with auto HDR more.

Both the smartphones have good cameras. It is difficult to choose which smartphone has a good camera as it depends upon location, shot to be taken. Due to wider aperture on Galaxy S7 Edge, images are detailed with a little more depth of field. Both the smartphones have 4K video recording feature.iPhone 7 has a good front facing camera then the Galaxy S7 Edge but due to wide angle lens in the latter, we would prefer it.

Performance:

iPhone 7  has a A10 fusion chip which a 64 bit quad core processor. A10 fusion chip is a beast performer and handle tasks easily.iPhone 7 has a 2GB RAM.

Galaxy S7 Edge is available in two diferent processors. The variant available in US and selected region boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset while variant in UK and selected regions has a Exynos 8890 processor. This smartphone has a 4GB RAM along with 32GB/64GB inbuilt storage which is expandable via MicroSD card up to 256GB.

Both the smartphones performs well due to beast processors in them. No lags were encountered in both of them. But on our side,we choose iPhone 7 due to more smoother performance than the Galaxy S7 Edge.

Software:

iPhone 7 has company’s iOS 10 built in. iOS 10 has its debut on the iPhone 7 due to which iPhone 7 is more smoothy to use and supports all the features.

Galaxy S7 Edge has Google’s Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Samsung’s skin installed in it. Now it supports Android’s latest version 7.0 Nougat. Marshmallow has options to optimise battery.

Both the smartphones have a smooth software. But as Android is more customizable and handy to use, we prefer Galaxy S7 Edge.

Our Verdict for iPhone 7 vs Galaxy S7 Edge

iPhone 7 starts with a price tag of Rs.55,599 while Galaxy S7 Edge has a price tag of Rs.50,900. As per all the comparisons made, Galaxy S7 Edge wins the battle due to better camera, better display.

Don’t take us inaccurate, iPhone 7 is also a good option because it is a water resistant but it does not have a headphone jack. If you are an Apple fan, then just go for it otherwise Galaxy S7 Edge is the winner.
